Biography
Tito West is a photographer based in Texas and East Africa.
He first went to Africa eighteen years ago to work on safari, intending to stay only a short while. He began in Botswana and remained in Africa for years, eventually moving into East Africa and working on hunting and photographic safaris.
Photography grew out of those experiences rather than the other way around. He began making photographs as a record of the people, places and circumstances he encountered, and over time it became the central thread running through his life in Africa.
In 2024, he published Another Life, a book bringing together photographs made during nearly fifteen years on the continent.
